The Currie Cup is also often called the Absa Currie Cup due to Sponsorship reasons. The ABSA Currie Cup is the world's oldest running Rugby tournament and is held each year in South Africa. It dates back to 1889 and is usually held between June and October. Eight rugby teams are in the Premier Division, and contest the ABSA Currie Cup.
