Sophie Ndaba is a favourite South African actress. She was born in Soweto  and  later on went to live in Zimbabwe where she attended and completed her high school education.

She couldn't further her studies because of financial difficulties but instead started her career as a model in 1992. In the same year, she got exposed to a series of television programmes. She appeared in several small roles for local productions. She played roles on Egoli, Soul City, Thlaranthlophe and Yizo Yizo1.  

Sophie auditioned for a local soap opera called Generations in 1993, the role was for the part of Karabo Moroka, but it was given to somebody else. She managed to get a character of Queen Moroka, a stylish and talkative girl. The producer told her that Queen's part was only for a short period. As Sophie was unemployed she convinced the producer to write more on Queen Moroka. Today Sophie has been on Generations for forteen years due to her perseverance.
 
Sophie was nominated for the Best Soap Actress in the Duku Duku Awards in 2002. She has also been nominated for the Elle Sunday Times Style Awards in the category of Most Stylish Actress in 2003. In 2004 she was nominated for the Children's M-Net Awards in the category for Best Soap Actress.

Sophie does not only act on TV but also does voice overs for cartoon characters in television commercials. She is also a wedding planner where she plans about five weddings a year. She started the wedding planner business just after her wedding. She said her wedding was not professionally planned and she saw a need and an opportunity to start the business.

Sophie Ndaba was married for ten years to Themba Ndaba, who is also an actor. They share three children; two daughters and a son. In 2002 Sophie was hijacked by three gunmen on her way back from work. She was with her 11- year old daughter but they escaped the scene unharmed. Sophie is someone who obeys and fears God and said that the whole incident has taught her to value life.
