Cupid

In the primordial fires of passion and love, a being capable of spreading these emotions across the globe was formed. With wings on his back to fly across the world he set out on his never-ending quest to bring love to all. His name – Cupid.

Remember that feeling you felt when you first met the love of your life? Well you can be guaranteed that this winged spreader of love was there. How about that time when you realised the person who were seeing was the one. That you could not live without them even if you tried. If you looked closely, you probably would have noticed a feather falling as Cupid made his graceful exit.

The world turns on love and Cupid and his battalion of cherubs make sure the love is flowing and the world spinning. Armed with a bow made from heartstone with string the bow-string made from finely woven light particles Cupid battles the forces of hate and despair. His arrows are tipped with elements of the original love which can go through the hardest substance of all. A closed heart.

On the 14 February every year we celebrate one of loves greatest servants - St. Valentine. A man you gave his life to spread Cupid's message of love. While to some jaded and cynical people this celebration is in their words a crass display of materialism dressed up as emotion for those people who are easily led, but those people generally revel in their own misery.

Valentines Day is a great day to buy chocolate, flowers or fluffy stuffed animals. But what the day is really about is telling those that you love, that you love them. And this can be done with no cost to your wallet and on any day but really should be done everyday.

This is how you do it. Look at the person who love. Smile slightly as you say these words and look them in the eye. Now repeat after me:

I LOVE YOU

Now was that difficult? Now go say those words and live your life like you mean them.
