Cape Town’s beaches over Christmas

Entertain yourself during this time by visiting Cape Town's beaches listed below.  Don't expect to be alone though.  Be prepared for crowds of happy beach-goers, all enjoying the sun, sand and water.

Muizenberg Beach

If you're driving south out of Cape Town you'll find that many road signs point to Muizenberg, leading to Muizenberg Beach. This beach has been one of the most popular Cape Town beaches for many years, with easy access by vehicle or train from the city. It is characterised by white sand split by rows of colorful wooden changing cubicles. The sea is relatively calm here and the temperature of the water is more bearable than at the Atlantic beaches due to the warming influence of the Indian Ocean currents.
