Monster is based on the true story of Aileen Wournos. She was one of America's first female serial killers. Wournos had a difficult and cruel childhood chacterised by abuse and drug use. She became a prostitute by the age of thirteen.
In this movie, the part of Aileen Wournos is played by Charlize Theron, who is South African. Theron won an Academy Award for her role in this movie.

The Gods must be crazy is about a tribe of Bushmen living in the Kalahari Desert. Their peaceful lives become threatened when a Coca-Cola bottle falls from the sky. They start to fight over the ownership of the Coca-Cola bottle, which they believed to be a gift from the Gods. Hoping to restore order, one tribesman was elected to return the bottle by journeying to the ends of the earth. This journey brings him into contact with other peoples.
