Winter Holidays
People say winter is a time for gaining weight and hiding away under thick itchy layers of clothes or blankets, early sunsets and longer nights, spending time in the bedroom with a heater on all day, runny noses and coughing, the list goes on. In contrast, winter also offers an opportunity for scholars to stay at home and catch up on their academic work, bonding with their families and reflecting on their lives. This season also offers great opportunities to hibernate.
Winter is a wonderful time to enjoy different activities, especially on those rainy days. It is also the best season for whale watching and so much more, especially for children that are at home during the Soccer World Cup. For winter vacation and holidays there isn`t any better place in the country than Cape Town.
Cape Town has cheaper and free offers for scholars. Some of these are:
- A free cable ride with every adult return ticket to Table Mountain.
- Free 30-minute harbour cruises for children (under 13) when accompanied by a paying adult. This is at the V&A Waterfront.
- Children can visit the Iziko SA Maritime Museum for free. Also at the V&A Waterfront.
- Play Cave Golf for free at the V&A Waterfront if accompanied by a paying adult.
