Healthy Summer diet

At the end of winter, we feel quite bloated from the richer food we have been eating.  Our summer diet should be lighter.  It is also healthier to eat foods that are seasonal, so feel free to indulge in lots of summery fruits.  They taste lovely, look great, and have the added benefit of being good for you.

What is a healthy summer diet?

You can eat more fruits and vegetables.  The added fibre will keep you full and healthy, but will not add any fat, so it will help you keep your shapely waist.  Stay away from fatty meat and fatty foods.  Lean chicken, pork and fish are lighter, and will give you all the nutrition you need.

Drink lots of water, atleast 2 litre a day.  It keeps you hydrated, makes you feel fuller, does not cost much - how can you go wrong?  Carry a water bottle with you wherever you go.  Cut down on the concentrate drinks and diet cooldrinks.  They contain caffeine and many other preservatives and colourants which are not good for you.
