Sparkle up your relationship

Every relationship has its ups and downs. Its very important for every couple to put a spark and revive their relationship. To fall in love is easy and exciting but loving someone for all their good and bad characteristics is a challenge. You can fall in and out of love, laugh and cry every day. But how do you keep going and understanding each other? This is the part that formulates the essence of a relationship.

1.    Communicate

Communication is the key for every relationship. A relationship without communication is dead. Both partners need to talk about what is bothering them in a comfortable environment but don't shout or scream at each other, speak in a calm and collected manner. Talk about how you feel and if your partner does not share their feelings, find a way that is comfortable for them. Talk to one another and really listen. Try not to butt in when your partner is talking. Give your undivided attention, admit to your mistakes, apologize when necessary and also forgive your partner.

2.    Make time for each other

Do things together, make food, take a bath together, work in the garden, or dance in the lounge on your favorite song. Even if it is just an hour before you turn off the lights to go to sleep, have that time for each other. You can do anything you want in this time, as long as it is just the two of you.

3.    Act like teens in love

Remember when you first met, when you were crazy in love? Re-enact the days when you first fell in love. It might have been days when you went to the park, bought them gifts, ate out, played pool, and went to the movies. You paid close attention to each other, you could not wait to touch, see or hear from them. Sit and watch the sunset while holding hands, have a pillow or water balloon fight, making jokes and giggle, buying gifts. Those little things can go a long way to bring back a little spark.

 4. Indulge each other

Take a night out at least once a week or month, just the two of you. Massage each other, fill the bath with oils or anything that will set the mood, wash each other's backs or even shave each other. This is definitely one to get the spark back in any relationship.

5. Sparkle yourself

Take care of your appearance, not only for your partner but for yourself as well. Buy nice and sexy clothes, change your hairstyle. Couples that have been together for long tend to let themselves go and say that they don't worry how they look in front of their partner anymore because they have seen them at their worst. Sprucing yourself up a bit to remind your partner why you are the best thing that has ever happened to them. Cited: Spice4life, 2011.
