What is democracy?
A democracy is a state that is governed by the people. All the people should be able to have their say either by voting to voice their views or by electing their leaders.
Who was the first black president in South Africa?
Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela became the first black South African president in 1994. At that time, he was the president of the ANC (African National Congress). His party won more votes than any other in the first democratic elections in South Africa. This made history throughout the whole world.
