This Sunday, the 14 March 2010, is the annual Cape Argus / Pick n Pay Cycle Tour. There are quite a number of road closures planned for the day, as more than 40 000 cyclers will make their way through our beautiful city.  

ICT has opened doors for Christina Marule (65), a spaza shop owner. Christina used to close her spaza shop to go out and buy stock. She had to travel 32 km to the nearest wholesaler in Burgersfort to get her goods. She would leave the shop unattended for the day and lose hard-earned income and profit. Due to her age, she would sometimes lose her stock in the taxi, coming home empty-handed. Now she uses her cell phone to not only order her goods but also to pay for them at the end of the month.

"Field hockey" or "Hockey" as it's generally known as, is a sport in which a team of players attempt to score goals by hitting, pushing or flicking the ball with hockey sticks into the opposing team's goal post. Its official name is simply Hockey, and this is the common name for it in many countries.

A cartoonist is someone who specialises in drawing cartoons. These can be editorial or political cartoons, comic strips, comic books, print cartoons and graphic novels.

Measles is one of the most serious and common childhood viral illnesses. It is also called rubella. It is a highly contagious respiratory infection caused by a virus. If you have measles, you will have a skin rash and flu-like symptoms, including a fever, cough, and runny nose. There is currently a number of cases which have been reported in the Western Cape area and precautions should be taken.
