Care and Awareness campaigns
In the fight against HIV/AIDS, people must be taught to prevent infection. Those who are infected need appropriate treatment, care and support to help them live longer and better lives. The only way to fight HIV/AIDS is to stand together as individuals, families and communities, and to campaign actively against HIV/AIDS. There are many awareness campaigns happening around the country.
One of the most prominent is Nelson Mandela's 46664 Campaign. This is a worldwide music-led campaign to raise global awareness about HIV/Aids and funds to fight the pandemic in Southern Africa. For more information on the 46664 campaign, go to 46664
One of the most vocal campaigns has been that of the Treatment Action Campaign. They campaign for treatment for people with HIV and to reduce new HIV infections. For more information, go to TAC
