Dyslexia

The word dyslexia has its root in Ancient Greece and means "difficulty with words". Dyslexia consists of a wide range of different learning difficulties. A person of moderate intelligence who has persistent and significant problems with reading, writing, spelling and, sometimes, mathematics and musical notations could be suffering from dyslexia.

A person with dyslexia can be hesitant or slow in reading and writing, misread words which can lead to misunderstandings, difficulty in concentrating and other symptoms.

For students it has been discovered that Mind Maps can help with learning for exams, tests or other course work.

There is no cure for dyslexia but with an understanding of what the person has, accommodation may be made to further help and encourage the person in developing their other talents.
