Testing

Cancer is usually recognised by symptoms or through screening.  If there is a suspicion of cancer, s/he will be further investigated by medical testing. Testing commonly includes the following:

  • CT scan
  • Complete blood count (CBC)
  • Blood chemistries
  • Biopsy of the tumour
  • Bone marrow biopsy (for lymphoma or leukemia)
  • Chest x-ray
