In this section of the SmartCape Portal, we aim to acquaint our users with health issues affecting society today.  We have chosen what our research indicates are the most common ailments affecting South Africans, and we intend to provide information on these (e.g. causes, prevention, treatment etc.).  It is not our intention to become an authority on health issues.  We rather aim to raise awareness and be advocates for a healthy lifestyle by directing our users to the real authorities on these subjects.  You will therefore find links to other websites and sources of information.  You will also find contact details for treatment and support groups for the different illnesses.  Please use them, and let us know if you experience any problems.  Also let us know if we have inadvertently excluded any organisations or information.  In this way, you can help us build this section into a handy resource for all our users.  You can email us on info(at)smartcape.org.za.
