National Youth Development Agency

The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) is a South African government initiative aimed at creating and promoting coordination in youth development matters. The NYDA was formally launched on 16 June 2009. The Agency was primarily formed to ensure responsiveness to the needs and challenges of South African youth e.g. poverty, unemployment, skills development, further education and training etc. Additionally, it aimed to promote youth participation in governance, economic activities and society at large.

NYDA's mandate is to:
 - Advance youth development through guidance and support to initiatives across sectors of society and spheres of government.
- Embark on initiatives that seek to advance the economic development of young people.
- Develop and coordinate the implementation of the Integrated Youth Development Plan and Strategy for the country.

- National Youth Service and Social Cohesion

- Policy, Research and Development
- Governance, Training and Development
- Youth Advisory and Information Services
