Moral Regeneration Month
July marks the commemoration of Moral Regeneration Month, an initiative of the Moral Regeneration Movement (MRM), which is aimed at encouraging all South Africans to recommit to efforts of building communities grounded on positive values and rededicate to building a caring society in pursuit of creating lasting peace and prosperity in the country.
The Moral Regeneration Month is commemorated in July 2011 with the theme "Together nurturing the good in everyone through the Charter of Positive Values". MRM month was officially launched on Friday 01 July 2011 by the Hon. Mr. Paul Mashatile, Minister of Arts and Culture.
During this period, all South Africans and all who dwell within her borders are encouraged to reflect on what they can do individually and collectively to make our country a better place for all and accelerate our quest for building morally strong communities. Various activities to commemorate MRM Month will take place within the provinces throughout the month of July, culminating in a closing ceremony which will be held in the Eastern Cape Province on 30 July 2011.
