Public Access Computers in the 44 Wale Street Foyer

- User excited about the service

- Users at 44 Wale, Cape Town
The foyer in the building where our project is based is the only Smartcape Access Point that is not housed in a public library. It is always busy, so we got curious about who uses these computers and what for. Therefore, we paid the facility a visit.
Users seemed to be busy working on the computers. We were curious about who they were and what they were doing, so we spoke to a few of them.
Galiemah Karriem, a student from UWC, was using the computer for her studies. She conducts research for her projects on various websites. She also comes in to check her emails. She is an experienced computer user and does not need any help to search for information.
Nkosinathi Mpawu is a business owner and visits the foyer to search for business information and to send out emails. He said the staff is very helpful to the users.
Shelton Mukamuru uses the computers for job searching and to apply for jobs. Even though he is not very familiar with computers, he always gets assistance from the staff. He visits the SmartCape foyer almost everyday and he hopes that will also improve his computer skills. He says that he usually does not have to wait for a computer. There are usually computers available for everyone.
For 45 minutes free Internet access everyday, visit the Foyer of 44 Wale Street in Cape Town.
