Bridgetown Public Library

Bridgetown Public Library opened it's doors for the first time on 27 July 1999. It  is situated on the corner of Cornflower and Heide Streets in Bridgetown and is a constant hive of activity. It is a well-stocked library and it is well used by it's Community and patrons from the surrounding areas .

Bridgetown Public Library is one of the few libraries within the City which attracts a diverse group of patrons. The atmosphere which prevails at the library , lends itself to patrons interacting with each other, forging new friendships and  sharing antics about books, irrespective of their cultural differences Anytime of the day, you will find the unemployed, local housewives, domestic workers and grandparents with their grandchildren visiting the library to borrow or return books, access the Smartcape facility or to merely browse through  books at their leisure.

From the unemployed to the professional, senior citizens, parents, teenagers and children use Smartcape to enrich their lives. The Smartcape facility is used for diverse purposes: sending and receiving  e-mails, application for jobs,  drawing up CV's, research and to advertise services. The minute the library opens it`s doors, you will find 6 to 10 people signing in to use the Smartcape computers and another group  waiting  anxiously  to peruse the trolleys for items just returned  and of course to view new books on display.
