Training opportunities at Eskom
The Technical Training Group at Koeberg Nuclear Power Station is currently in the process of offering the following Bursaries and Training Opportunities:
Technical College Bursaries (Apprenticeship)
1. Mechanical (x10) Fitting
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12 (technical/academic) with maths and science
- Grade 10 (technical/academic) with maths and science and N3 including maths and engineering science
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
- Grade 10 or higher with N3 including maths, science, trade theory and technical drawings
- Relevant NCV4 qualification with grade 10 to 12 including maths and science
2. Measurement, Control and Instrumentation (x4)
- Grade 12 (technical/academic) with maths and science
- Grade 10 (technical/academic) with maths and science and N3 light current/ electronics including maths and engineering science
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
- Grade 10 or higher with N4 including maths, science, industrial electronics and logics/ digits
- Relevant N4 qualification with with grade 10 or higher including maths and science
3. Welding (x2)
4. Rigging (x2)
NOTE: requirements for welding and rigging candidates are the same
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12 (technical/academic) with maths and science
- Grade 10 (technical/academic) with maths and science and N3 heavy current including maths, engineering science, trade theory and industrial electronics/logics
Desired requirements
- Grade 10 or higher with N3 including maths, science, electrotechnics and industrial electronics/ logics
- Relevant N4 qualification with with grade 10 or higher including maths and science
5. Electrical (x5)
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12 (technical/academic) with maths and science
- Grade 10 (technical/academic) with N3 heavy current including maths, engineering science, trade theory and industrial electronics/logics
Desired requirements
- Grade 10 or higher with N3 including maths, science, electrotechnics and industrial electronics/ logics
- Relevant N4 qualification with with grade 10 or higher including maths and science
6. Civil: Bricklayer (x1)
7. Plumber (x1)
NOTE: requirements for bricklayer and plumber candidates are the same
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12 (technical/academic) with maths and science
- Grade 10 (technical/academic) with N2 including maths, trade theory and drawings
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
- Grade 10 or higher with N2 including maths, science, , trade theory and drawings
- Relevant NCV4 qualification with grade 10 or higher including maths and science
Experiential Training
University of Technology Bursaries
1. Mechanical Engineering (x7)
2. Electrical Engineering (x4)
3. Light Current (x4) (Measurement, control and instrumentation)
Entry requirements
- Grade 12 including maths and science and S4 qualification in the designated field (all subjects completed)
- Reserved for candidates who require in-service training to obtain their diploma
- Proof of eligibility to register for P1 and/or P2 in-service training at the relevant University of Technology
4. Civil Engineering (x2)
Entry requirements
- Grade 12 including maths and science and S2 qualification in the designated field (all subjects completed)
- Reserved for candidates who require in-service training to obtain their diploma
- Proof of eligibility to register for P1 and/or P2 in-service training at the relevant University of Technology
