Tourism Collective Bursary Programme 2012

The Provincial Department of Economic Development and Tourism would like to embark on the Tourism Collective Bursary Programme 2012. The aim of this programme is to provide a minimum co-funded financial assistance to those who are studying or wishing to undertake an undergraduate full-time study in Tourism study fields.  

Who Can Apply for a Bursary?

To apply for one of these bursaries you must be:

  •  South African citizens residing in the Western Cape.
  • Youth who demonstrate a keen interest in pursuing a career in the Western Cape Tourism industry.
  • Youth are in Grade 12 or who have passed Grade 12 and wish to pursue their academic studies in the hospitality, tourism and events management academic fields.
  •  Youth who have already embarked on tertiary studies and will be completing their studies in the relevant academic fields.
  •  Youth Individuals who demonstrate potential in and high academic achievements

How Do I Apply?

To apply for this bursary you need to submit the following:

  • Written confirmation by academic institution that applicant is accepted for full-time study at the Higher Educational Institution for 2011.
  • Certified copy of official academic results (mid-year and/or any written examinations already written (Final year results for academic year 2010 will be requested from shortlisted applicants).
  •  Course curriculum for 2011 annual studies
  •  Cost estimate quotation for 2011 annual studies
  • Certified copy of identity document
  • Certified copy of proof of annual income of parent/s and/or legal guardian/s
  • Certified copy of relevant contract/s entered into with financial institution/s for current or previous financial assistance for your education (if applicable).

  • Closing date for applications is 18 November 2011.
