The competition is designed to encourage and assist you in taking your business idea, or existing business, to the next level and support the development of your business concept. Entry is free and open to any South African citizen over 18 who has a business idea or an existing small business. You do not have to have a registered business to enter.

You participate in the competition by submitting an on-line business plan, using the guided template. Special training and assistance is available at every Seda branch. There will be a total of 40 winners in the 2011/12 Seda Small Business Stars, who will share in a total of more than R4-million worth of prizes. Four winners will be selected from each of the nine provinces of South Africa, giving a total of 36 provincial winners.

In order to participate in the Seda Small Business Stars competition, you need to register on the website. There is no cost to register.
