Funding Opportunity for Small Businesses
The National Department of Trade and Industry offers a Black Business Supplier Development Programme. This is aimed at offering financial support to black-owned enterprises in South Africa.
Who qualifies for this scheme?
- Companies that are majority black owned (fifty plus one share) and have a significant representation of black managers on their management team.
- Companies with an annual turnover of R12 million or less.
- Your company must have a trading history of at least one year.
- Your company must comply with commercial regulatory requirements applicable to your areas of business, e.g. registration with CIPRO and SARS.
What can the funds be used for?
- Improving the effectiveness of the management system of your business
- PR and Marketing
- Skills development of staff and management
NOTE: The maximum grant amount that a single enterprise can qualify for is limited to R100 000.
