Business Marketing
Effective marketing is about presenting your business in such a way as to make your customers want to buy from you and you alone. If you cannot present your product or service to your customers in a way that will make it more striking than your competitors, then your business has less chances of success. Marketing involves sales, advertising, promotional activities, pricing, packaging, the location and even the name of your business. Improving your marketing skills will help to increase sales. Some key points to remember:
- Build mind-share: This means making your business as well known as possible, so that when a prospective client wishes to contract someone in your sector of business, your company is one of the first to be approached. The best way to achieve this is to talk about your business as much as possible, to any and every one you meet. You never know who may by a useful contact, so spend time developing your existing relationships.
- Use the Internet and email as a marketing tool: If you have a website, ensure that your company URL (website address) appears in every possible place ??" your door, your car, business cards, letterheads, invoices, receipts, emails etc.
Caution: Don't be seen as a "spammer"! Send e-mail only to those people who have given permission. When someone asks to be removed from your mailing list, respond immediately.
